OMG,YES!!
The Webstock team was sitting down recently trying to finalise our programme. We had one slot left for a speaker – the closing slot on the programme. We already had this amazing list of speakers lined up, so we wanted someone special. We thought and we thought, and we looked at each other, and finally someone said, “We need Kathy Sierra”. And everyone else said, “That’s who I was thinking of!”
So we wrote to Kathy, and got back an email with the subject line, “OMG, YES!!”
Webstock, frankly, is beside itself with delight to announce that Kathy Sierra will be the closing speaker at Webstock08. We can’t think of anyone better or anyone we’d rather have.
I didn’t think she did this kind of thing anymore?
Hi Craig
We were very much hoping that she did, and it turns out we were right. I think Kathy is “restarting” to speak again, so I’m sure pretty much everyone is very happy!
Hooray!
Excellent. She was such good value at the last Webstock.
I can’t think of any place I’d feel more welcome and engaged than Webstock.. I’m honored that you asked me back, and I’m already counting the days : )
Craig, you’re right — I’ve been off the tech grid for quite some time, but I’ve just begun to dip my toes back in the conference pool… and thinking about Webstock gave me the big push I needed.
Webstock was the most memorable conference experience I’ve ever had, as both a speaker *and* an attendee. I can’t wait to join y’all again!
(and thanks Johnny and Kris)
OMG – I’m coming to Wellington for Webstock now! What a find.
I didn’t even get to go to Webstock this year, but I’m glad Kathy did. I read about what happened to her and it broke my heart. I was lucky enough to be on Kathy’s “Creating Passionate Users” workshop at the first Webstock, and it was a high point in my web life so far. I’m so glad that others in NZ will get to experience that for themselves.
Go get ’em Kathy, you rock!
