Like me, Webstock is not cheap to maintain, and it is thanks to a number of forward-thinking organisations that we are able to make Webstock 08 happen. We believe their support of Webstock a) proves they are awesome and b) shows their true commitment to the web and its possibilities. So we’d like to raise our glasses, tip our hats and say big ups to our incredible sponsors:
Webstock is a chance to mix and mingle with the best of New Zealand’s web world, to hear first-class speakers, to make connections, build the network and to learn about excellence in digital and Internet technology.
One of our aims as a group is to encourage everyone to take this opportunity, including those who don’t have the luxury of a departmental or corporate budget.
If the registration cost is a barrier for you — perhaps you’re a student, have a disability, are associated with a non-profit, community group, are connected with a group that’s under-represented in the web field, or usually live in the Pacific Islands, we may be able to offer you a scholarship.
We can’t pay for travel or accommodation, but we can cover the registration fee. Remember, you can find other funding possibilities through the Funding Information Service.
To apply, look at our Scholarships page and follow the instructions. Applications close on 3 November 2007.
Roll up, roll up for Webstock 08. It’s back and oh she’s gonna be a good one. The speaker list is a veritable talent-fest and Webstock has more education, inspiration, practical application and insightful analysis than you can poke a stick at.
We’re just finalising the programme and workshop details and will let you know all of that soon. Tickets go on sale shortly but before they do, and carrying on the Webstock tradition, we’re auctioning our first ticket off on Trade Me. Along with entry to the conference, the winner will have the opportunity to dine with the speakers the night before conference opening.
We’re extremely proud to have put together Webstock 08. We hope to see you in Wellington next February.
The Webstock 08 site is nearly ready to be launched. Who will be speaking? What’s on the programme? Are there any special offers? Only time will tell …
We’ll be relaunching the Webstock site in early September. It’ll have full details about Webstock 08, to be held in Wellington from 11-15 February.
We’re extremely excited about the speakers we’ve got lined up and the programme we’ll be able to offer. There’s one or two from Webstock 06 coming back (we wish we could have invited them all back to speak!), but mostly it’s a new lineup of web royalty!
The format will be three days of workshops followed by two days of conference proper. There’ll be something for everyone, with pretty much every aspect of the web industry being covered. Webstock — tags: “webstock” “webstock08”
