FullCodePress win

No doubt you’ve all heard, but recently the CodeBlacks took on Team Australia in Sydney. Full details, including links to the two sites created, videos, twitter and flickr photos, are all on the FullCodePress website.

It was a wonderful event, made special by seeing how much the websites meant to the two recipient organisations. It looks like both teams will be available on an ongoing basis to assist with further development and maintenance of the sites.

The teams took different approaches to build — Team Australia taking the Drupal approach and the CodeBlacks building a bespoke CMS.

The CodeBlacks won (yah Kiwis in a week where the Tall Blacks have been hammered by Australia), but it really was one of those events where at the end of the day, web standards and web development was the winner!

Both teams should be really proud of their efforts.

Webstock 08 – Code for Freedom

We’ll be relaunching the Webstock site in early September. It’ll have full details about Webstock 08, to be held in Wellington from 11-15 February.

We’re extremely excited about the speakers we’ve got lined up and the programme we’ll be able to offer. There’s one or two from Webstock 06 coming back (we wish we could have invited them all back to speak!), but mostly it’s a new lineup of web royalty!

The format will be three days of workshops followed by two days of conference proper. There’ll be something for everyone, with pretty much every aspect of the web industry being covered. Webstock — tags: “webstock” “webstock08”
